What an inspired transformation - it makes a wonderful pargeted house, and the windows and bow window are great (I especially love the packets in the bow window that have fallen over, a very authentic touch for a rather neglected shop ...) I really don't think you should worry at all what serious collectors would think - it was missing all its windows anyway, and everything can be undone. It's when people strip wallpapers and enlarge windows that I get upset - changes that can't be reversed, and that often remove the evidence of a house's age or brand. But you haven't done that at all! As for scale - some dolls houses were made with different scales upstairs and down. The only concern I have is that the dolls can't reach the sink or dresser - do they have a stool to stand on? I love the bead vases, too, and I hope the old couple get help and can restock their shop soon!Rebeccahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11859849266660930171noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2825557015623591306.post-1003837797627166942016-09-21T03:28:44.678+01:002016-09-21T03:28:44.678+01:00I think it's a triumphant makeover, inside and...I think it's a triumphant makeover, inside and out. Of course, I like that you're always careful about changing things, but these are, after all, playthings that would have been changed and re-vamped (at least re-painted) as they went down the years.

And great minds think alike, Andrea - I was wondering about a grand-daughter having finished her education and being at a loose end, wondering what to do next...

NAMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08975998484831083527noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2825557015623591306.post-18111776247284352032016-09-20T08:22:17.743+01:002016-09-20T08:22:17.743+01:00I, of course, am no expert in the field of houses ...I, of course, am no expert in the field of houses inhabited by dolls (see what I did there?) so my enchantment is unsullied by concerns about authenticity. It's lovely! Lynda's Allsorts are fabulous! Please to post another picture of them with a coin, or something, so I can marvel at quite how teeny tiny they are. In the picture they look ordinary-sized.
I love the owners, but am concerned about their health and wellbeing (they look a little flat). Could they not just shut the shop and tearoom, or do they need the income? Could they shut one of them? Or get a Lad in to help? I know! A long-lost great-niece (so careless) can arrive from Canada and stay to help (she can sleep in the bath) Through the magic of youth and hard graft, the tearoom becomes a roaring success and people flock to it. They will then have no trouble in selling - or perhaps it makes so much money the couple can retire, leaving the running of the business to the G-N, who can by then afford to buy a little cottage nearby. Or the couple can have the cottage. OK, I'll stop now.
A feast of a blogpost - thank you. What a lovely way to start the day.
Andrea xx
Andrea Smallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18017280033696404459noreply@blogger.com
